| Reginald Atkin founded the Atkin family business
in 1934, where they started life trading in Liverpool and Chester under
the name of Plasterers (Liverpool & Chester) Limited. They moved to
Cardiff just after the Second World War and over the next decade developed
strong ties with The United States of America. In the late 1950’s,
Reginald Atkin was nominated president of the IAWCC – the first person
outside of America to receive such an honour.
In the 1960’s, Reginald’s son Robert went to The United States to learn about the latest technology in drylining and partitioning – which led to major hospital contracts in the UK and numerous projects for the Welsh Development Agency, County Councils and Welsh Water. Speed of work has always played an important part in the company’s
philosophy and has been committed to keeping ahead with advanced building
technology. |
