STEEL
FRAMING SYSTEMS
Steel Framing was introduced into this Country from America to answer
the demand for fast, efficient cost effective construction.
The high strength-to-weight ratio of lightweight steel sections enables
simple techniques to be used to provide cost efficient structural solutions
to most construction problems.
Atkin Trade Specialists Limited are
the appointed dealer in the UK for the Metsec method of lightweight steel
framing and are able to offer a complete design and installation package
for many commercial and industrial applications including stand alone
buildings, firewalls, load bearing partitions, mezzanine floors etc. |

METFRAME
SYSTEM |
|
|
| |
Metframe superstructures employ galvanised lightweight steel sections
to form structural elements of a building frame. Loadbearing internal
and external wall steel frames, fixed to a base ringbeam and intermediate
floor or roof structures, provide structural stability and integrity to
the building.
The cold rolled steel components are designed according to individual
requirements, and produced and assembled into building frame panels within
the factory, allowing consistency of quality and reduction of construction
times. |

METFRAME
ASSEMBLY |
|
|
| |
Assembly Sequence
On completion of the foundations, Metframe erectors install, level and
fix the ringbeam components ready for the floor slab to be poured. Once
the slab has cured, ground floor wall panels are erected and fixed to
the ringbeam.
As the wall panels to any one room are completed, the intermediate floor
structure can be installed. Once this has been done, dry trades can commence
work in this area, whilst the remaining wall panels etc are installed.
|
|
After the ground floor structure is completed, subsequent levels are
erected in a similar manner and finally the selected roof structure is
installed to complete the superstructure.
Once the roof structure is weathertight, the building provides a dry
envelope and internal work can be carried out, regardless of weather conditions.
